About Miromico IC

Miromico IC is an innovative high-tech company specializing in the development of analog, digital, and mixed-signal high-speed integrated circuits using modern CMOS technologies. Drawing on years of extensive experience, we develop digital RF ICs and functional blocks for satellite communications, radar, quantum computing, measurement instruments, and other applications—in collaboration with and for our customers—from initial concepts through to finished products.

History

Miromico AG was founded in 2002 by three electrical engineers as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich. From the outset, Miromico AG had two distinct business areas and customer bases. One group was primarily interested in electronic systems, while the other focused on highly specialized integrated circuits. In 2020, the two groups within Miromico were split into separate companies: Miromico AG (electronics/IoT) and Miromico IC AG (integrated circuits).

The focus of the IC design group — and later Miromico IC AG — gradually shifted from general analog/mixed-signal circuits to high-speed designs using modern CMOS/FinFET technologies. Over the past fifteen years, projects have primarily involved designs for high-speed serial links and high-speed data converters (ADC/DAC).

The Team

Our team consists of more than 25 highly specialized analog/mixed-signal and digital IC design engineers with extensive experience in high-speed full-custom circuit design and digital IC design using modern CMOS technologies. About one-third of the team holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering; the others hold a Master of Science or an equivalent degree. The team includes graduates of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich and Lausanne, as well as other renowned European (technical) universities.

Management

Miromico IC is led by two of its original founders, Michael Rüegg and Robert Reutemann. Both Michael and Robert are graduates of ETH Zurich, where, about 25 years ago, they enthusiastically developed, characterized, and put into operation their first analog/mixed-signal BiCMOS chip.

Ownership

In August 2026, Miromico IC AG, together with our long-standing customer and partner Jariet Technologies, has been acquired by CesiumAstro. Following the acquisition, Miromico IC is focusing even more strongly on the development of digital RF microchips and solutions for SatCom, communications, radar and related applications for the European market.
